Christmas may be right around the corner, but for the beauty bloggers who attended The ABBW, the most wonderful time of the year has been and gone. Introducing ‘Beauty Blogsmas’ also known as the Maxted Thomas Gala Dinner, which was the highlight of my weekend. It was so extraordinary, the best way to describe it is ’a beauty bloggers equivalent to Christmas’.
Myrrh Megan, Angel Ashley, Mistletoe Molly
The evening began with sparkling glasses of champagne served by jolly elves and the chance to mingle with fellow members of the beauty blogging family. But unlike a traditional family gathering, there was no drunken uncle to sit next to, or children running around on a sugar high from too many candy canes. Or witnessing your Grandpa tickle your boyfriend on the beanbag (true story)!
The smooches were genuine (Jacie remains the Queen) and excited chatter filled the room. This was a night spent with women who share a passion, and many of us were meeting each other in person for the very first time.

PR representatives from various brands acted as Ghosts of Blogsmas Future, showing us the products that will be filling our stockings this year. From chip-free nail colour, to perfect curls, and everything in between, Maxted Thomas had us covered.
We were kept busy mingling and jingling, and the helpers from Orly, Sebastian Professional and Remington primped and preened us to make sure we were looking our very best for the occasion. There was not a grinch or red-nosed rudolf to be seen!

Blogsmas family photos were super stylish – not a knitted jumper in sight! Nivea provided a photo booth for us to put on our best holiday smile, giving us a momento of the festivities. They also acted as our skin-saving angels; performing a skin analysis and recommending products to keep us looking fresh in the morning.
Bees (of the Burt’s variety) were this year’s reindeer; lighting the way for the latest lip and skin care products to keep us buzzing. It’s all about having a sheer tint of colour for occasions such as Blogsmas, where you’ll be laughing, eating, and having a jolly good time.
Instead of the aroma of pine and gingerbread, Coty showcased fragrances from Calvin Klein, Marc Jacobs, and Balenciaga as the Blogsmas signature scents. Oh, Lola! was a crowd favourite, and Forbidden Euphoria shot to the top of my wish list.
We were then treated to a 3 course dinner, starring a dessert as sweet as sugar-plums. The food was decadent and zestful, as any festive feast should be! Our wine glasses were never empty, making everyone all the more merry. The lovely ladies of table 8 became my immediate family for the evening, and the conversation revolved around food and fragrances. Which was a nice contrast to the ordinary Christmas small talk with those relatives you avoid (you know the ones!).

Merry Molly, Snowflake Stevie, Dasher Desiree, Luminous Lou, Elvish Emma, Kris Kringle Karyn.
Ian Thomas, Director of Maxted Thomas PR, played Santa for the night, spreading a message of joy and beauty, and even giving out some presents for the extra good girls. Luckily the only coal to be seen on the night was kohl worn on the lit-up eyes of the gorgeously groomed attendees.
“Merry Blogsmas to all, and to all a good night!…Now where’s Sebastian Professional, I need to trim this beard.”
It was a magical evening that won’t be forgotten. And now I leave you with the first official Beauty Blogsmas carol – Enjoy!
I don’t want a lot for Blogsmas
There’s just a few things that I need
Coty’s got the scents to make me
Feel just like a celebrity
I just want some Q10 cream
Nivea knows what I need
Make my wish come true…
All I want for Blogsmas
Is you…I don’t want a lot for Blogsmas
There’s just a few things that I need
I don’t care about the gadgets
Books and bikes are not for me
I don’t need a pair of stockings
I’d prefer something for my face
A gift voucher won’t make me happy
Unless it’s for Sebastian hairsprayI just want an Orly maniOr Burt’s Bees special honey glowMake my wish come true
All I want for Blogsmas is…
You baby!
